Timm\u2019s\u00a0career\u00a0in the arts began\u00a0at the\u00a0Chazen\u00a0Museum of Art in Madison, Wisconsin as curatorial assistant\u00a0for its approximately 23,000 works of art covering diverse historical periods,\u00a0cultures\u00a0and geographies.\u00a0She has also held various positions at art museums in the New York City area, including Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, an internationally renowned art museum devoted to 20th century art, and Winter Antiques Show, a leading art, antiques and design fair featuring experts in the fine and decorative arts.\u00a0Prior to Saint Kate, Timm\u00a0was curator for Jewel Spiegel Gallery in Englewood, New Jersey, which holds a collection of old,\u00a0fine\u00a0and decorative prints.\u00a0Her\u00a0strong background\u00a0in both art history and contemporary art brought her to Saint Kate\u00a0as art historian in April 2019\u00a0and\u00a0co-curator\u00a0with Marcus\u00a0in October 2020.\u00a0In addition to her breadth of experience in the arts, she holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in Art History from the\u00a0University of Wisconsin in Madison and a master\u2019s degree in History of Art from the University of York in York, England.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Saint Kate\u2019s\u00a0current exhibitions include \u201cDear Ruth\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/i>by The\u00a0Everday\u00a0Feminist; \u201cHanging Out the Laundry\u201d by Maeve Jackson; \u201cThe Money $how,\u201d which is created\u00a0by Frank Juarez and Ric\u00a0Kasini\u00a0Kadour; \u201cDestination Unknown\u201d by Anne\u00a0Spalter; and \u201cArtists Without Borders: Reflections on Art and Place\u201d from MOWA DTN. Under Timm\u2019s leadership, new exhibitions will open on August 14, 2021, where guests can visit The Gallery to view\u00a0<\/span>Judy Pfaff\u2019s \u201cEnd of the Rain\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/i>exhibit<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>as well as\u00a0<\/span>Swoon\u2019s \u201cTender\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/i>exhibit<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>on view in The Vitrine. Both\u00a0are from guest curators\u00a0J.\u00a0Myszka\u00a0Lewis and Sona Pastel Daneshgar from Tandem Press, a Madison-based professional printmaking studio and gallery, and showcase\u00a0internationally known\u00a0artists\u00a0whose\u00a0pieces\u00a0elicit deep connections\u00a0with\u00a0guests.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to its permanent art collection and exhibitions, Saint Kate\u00a0creates\u00a0intimate and\u00a0immersive arts\u00a0experience\u00a0for visitors\u00a0through unique programming and partnerships with local arts organizations.\u00a0In her role, Timm will\u00a0continue to\u00a0lead the hotel\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>champagne art tours<\/span><\/a>\u00a0where visitors can explore Saint Kate\u2019s art collection and special exhibitions. She will also\u00a0host a joint\u00a0<\/span>walking\u00a0tour<\/span><\/a>\u00a0series with Sculpture Milwaukee, a non-profit organization transforming downtown\u00a0Milwaukee’s cultural landscape with an outdoor exhibition of world-renowned sculpture. This tour will\u00a0begin at Saint Kate to view the hotel\u2019s sculptural work before leading guests to Sculpture Milwaukee\u2019s pieces throughout the city.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
