With more than\u00a034,000 square feet\u00a0of versatile\u00a0meeting\u00a0rooms, Hilton Milwaukee\u00a0offers the most\u00a0event space\u00a0of\u00a0any hotel\u00a0in the city.\u00a0The\u00a0hotel\u2019s\u00a0three ballrooms, pre-function\u00a0spaces,\u00a0and\u00a0meeting rooms\u00a0were renovated to\u00a0maintain\u00a0the now-refurbished\u00a0crystal\u00a0chandeliers, antique\u00a0mirrors, gold-leafed adornments,\u00a0and bright\u00a0silver accents, along with new carpeting, draperies,\u00a0<\/span>and wall coverings. The hotel\u2019s 554 guest rooms\u00a0were\u00a0completely\u00a0refreshed, balancing the building\u2019s\u00a0treasured\u00a0aesthetic with\u00a0amenities\u00a0that today\u2019s travelers expect.\u00a0The\u00a0updated\u00a0interiors\u00a0bring\u00a0a warm palette of soft\u00a0woods\u00a0and gold accents, complemented by custom-designed carpeting, draperies, and vibrant artwork.\u00a0Guests can\u00a0relax amid\u00a0new furnishings and lighting inspired by the symmetry and glamour of the\u00a0Art Deco era\u00a0while appreciating\u00a0motion-sensor lighting,\u00a0in-room steamers,\u00a0and\u00a0newly installed heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Guest bathrooms\u00a0were also\u00a0fully redesigned with\u00a0new\u00a0marble countertops, built-in lighted mirrors, and premium fixtures from Wisconsin-based Kohler Co., delivering an elevated, luxurious experience.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A Milwaukee Landmark\u00a0for Decades to Come\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Opening its doors in 1928\u00a0as\u00a0the Schroeder Hotel, the Hilton Milwaukee stands as a\u00a0masterpiece and one of the city\u2019s most distinguished landmarks. The building\u2019s original owner, Walter Schroeder, spared no expense in creating the hotel that would bear his name and become a lasting\u00a0fixture\u00a0in\u00a0Milwaukee\u2019s skyline. Designed by renowned architects Holabird and Roche, best known for\u00a0designing\u00a0Chicago\u2019s famous Palmer House, the hotel\u00a0remains\u00a0a testament to\u00a0classic\u00a0elegance and craftsmanship.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the years, the hotel changed ownership before Marcus Hotels & Resorts<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>purchased\u00a0the property in 1972 and renamed it the Marc Plaza. Following the purchase, the hotel underwent an $8 million renovation that reconfigured its original 850 rooms into 550 deluxe units and added both a parking structure and a swimming pool. In 1995, the hotel was renamed the Hilton Milwaukee\u00a0City Center\u00a0and\u00a0inducted into Historic Hotels of America\u00a0in 2011.\u00a0With this sweeping renovation, the hotel\u00a0was\u00a0rebranded as Hilton Milwaukee.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
