Great golf courses plentiful in state By: Brian E. Clark Come March, Bill Linneman’s fancy — and that of many other Badger State golfers — turns to getting out on one of Wisconsin’s numerous courses, even if there is new snow on the ground. “Most golfers really get an inkling for the game when you are watching March Madness basketball and you see all those commercials for the Masters Tournament on television, which gets rolling the first week of April,” said Linneman, director of rules and competition for the Wisconsin State Golf Association. |

Great golf courses plentiful around Wisconsin By: Brian E. “When that happens, you really know the golf season is right around the immediate corner for sure,” added Linneman, who figures he has played on 150 to 200 courses and been on more than 300 Wisconsin courses in his 25 years of working for the WSGA. Military Marriage Blessed by a Fairy Godmother Recently we had a truly memorable military wedding that occurred at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, located in Lake Geneva, WI. It was so touching, I just had to share. Zachary and Samantha Schnabl were married in a last-minute ceremony on December 27, 2014 – six months earlier than their original wedding date due to Zachary’s rescheduled deployment date. Left with just days to plan an entire wedding, the couple rushed to book a location, find a dress and still enjoy their short time together. When all was said and done, Zachary and Samantha had decided upon an intimate wedding in the lobby of Grand Geneva surrounded by their closest friends and family, officiated by Zachary’s father. But what truly makes this memory one for the books occurred after there big moment. When the couple went to pay the bill, they were told there was no charge! During the public ceremony, a bystander was so moved that she quietly paid for the entire ceremony and reception. The “fairy godmother” of the Schanbl wedding is a frequent guest of the resort and requested to remain anonymous – however, she sends her best wishes to the happy couple. See more here. |
