Walworth County’s Hot Spots

Great Places to Warm Up This Winter

Imagine sitting in front of a roaring fire, the blaze reflected in the brass mantel plate and in that shining metal you seem to catch a reflection of the past where Playboy bunnies sally forth doing their bunny dip while balancing a tray of sparkling cocktails.

Or perhaps you’ll travel further back in time to the Victorian era where savory and sweet delights prepared by a burly pastry chef are delicately served in front of the parlor fireplace. Maybe you’ll catch a glimpse of a famous Chicago industrialist whilst on holiday in Lake Geneva.

None of this is unreasonable and all of it is possible if you seek out one of these hot spots of Lake Geneva.

Is Cardio Drumming the New Travel Workout Trend?

By: Allison Lewis

Have you heard of Cardio Drumming? From Wisconsin to Mexico, I continue to see this new workout trend in some of the greatest high-end spa resorts. Check some of my favorites:

1. Here’s what Grand Geneva  in Wisconsin is drumming up:

To spice up workout routines, Grand Geneva has added POUND®  classes to their workout schedule. POUND® / Fit Ball fuses the most challenging series of core, leg and upper body conditioning moves with cardio interval training, and most importantly – fun. During this class, guests will use the fit ball as a large drum, using a set of fit sticks to turn into a calorie-torching drummer – pounding off the pounds as each song flies by. Grand Geneva also offers Body Pump, Cycling, Tabata, Piloxing, Zumba, Step Hit Up, CariOMG and Aqua classes.

The antioxidants in chocolate help boost the skin’s moisture content and the caffeine improves circulation and provides a temporary tightening effect. Here are a few chocoholic-approved services to help spa-goers reap the benefits of cocoa…
