Grand Geneva Resort & Spa Announces First Grand Geneva Golf Classic

Tournament Honors Local and Regional Golf Community

LAKE GENEVA, Wis. (August 27, 2014) — The AAA Four-Diamond Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, owned and managed by Marcus® Hotels & Resorts, is hosting its first 18-hole Golf Classic Sunday, September 21, 2014 on the award-winning Brute course.

“This Golf Classic really serves as a ‘thank you’ to our golf community and will be a fun way to celebrate the history of the property and this year’s excellent golf season,” said David Hallenbeck, director of golf. “These courses have been around for almost five decades and have a large and loyal client base. We just want to offer our community an exciting way to celebrate all the memories made here.”

The Golf Classic is a full day event, starting with registration and lunch at 11:30 a.m. followed by a 12:30 p.m. shotgun kick off and ending with a reception and awards ceremony. The tournament can be entered in either a scramble or a best ball division. Teams of four can compete for great prizes including:

• Special drawing for one golfer to win an overnight golf package for two at Grand Geneva
• Closest-to-the-pin prizes
• Hole in One prize

As an extra celebratory gift, each participant will be awarded a certificate for a complimentary round of golf, valid for play through the rest of the 2014 season and April – May 2015.

Hosted on the famed par-72 Brute, the Golf Classic will truly test players’ skill throughout the course. The Brute plays over 7,000 yards, making it one of the longest courses in the United States. A Robert Bruce Harris original, the course includes elevated greens, 68 sand traps and water hazards on nine holes.
