Hilton Names New Executive Chef, Audrey Munson-Inspired Menu
The Hilton Madison Monona Terrace announced Chris Running as its new executive chef of The Audrey Kitchen & Bar. Running has nearly a decade of experience working with Marcus Hotels, including Milwaukee’s Pfister Hotel, the Omaha Marriott d Lake Geneva’s Grand Geneva Resort.
Running, an Eau Claire native, has experience in many facets of the kitchen including being a line and pastry cook at Mason Street Grill (Pfister Hotel), sous chef at Society1854 (Omaha Marriott), banquet chef at The Capitol District (Omaha Marriott) and Chef de Cuisine and Banquet Chef at the Grand Geneva Resort.
“I’m excited to have Chef Running on board,” Hilton General Manager Derek Morrison said. “With his dedication, determination, creativity and his willingness to push boundaries to create unique and delicious menu items that tell a story, he is the right leader for our kitchen.”
The Audrey’s new menu embraces the spirit of the restaurant’s namesake, Audrey Munson, the country’s first supermodel whose likeness can be seen atop the Wisconsin State Capitol dome. It features simple yet elegant local food with twists on Wisconsin favorites. Both the breakfast and lunch/dinner menus ighlight different areas of Audrey’s life such as “From Her Farm,” “From Her Bakery,” and “From Her Ballroom.”
The new menus represent a new beginning for the Audrey, which is back to serving at full capacity since the pandemic. The menu rollout began earlier this month.
“This new menu theme is almost a Great Gatsby feel in which Audrey is the host of the party,” Running said. “I wanted to add some historical flair to the new menu, while also paying tribute to some of Wisconsin’s favorites. I look forward to sharing it with the guests and the greater Madison community.”
