The Pfister Hotel Named to USA TODAY’s Best Historic Hotel List
Renowned hotel selected to prestigious list for the first time For the first time, The Pfister Hotel, a historic AAA Four Diamond hotel owned and managed by Marcus® Hotels & Resorts, has been named one of USA TODAY’s “10 best historic hotels in the U.S.” The Pfister was nominated for this national recognition by a panel of hotel experts with the top 10 winners determined by online voting from readers. The full list can be found on the USA TODAY 10 Best website. “It is an incredible honor to be recognized among the nation’s top 10 historic hotels by USA TODAY, especially considering the important role reader input played in our selection,” said Michael Evans, president of Marcus Hotels & Resorts. “With the Pfister celebrating its 130th anniversary this year, this designation is especially meaningful as we honor decades of impeccable elegance and beloved traditions at this most special hotel. As many will attest, the Pfister long has been home to generations of memory-making moments, including engagements, weddings, anniversaries and celebrations, along with history-making events, career defining accomplishments and so much more. Whether a first-time or long-time guest, we welcome you to visit The Pfister to make memories of your own.” Continuing to honor its deep history in Milwaukee, The Pfister is currently undergoing an extensive, state-of-the-art, multi-phased renovation to further elevate its exceptional guest experience. Expected to cost approximately $20 million and be completed in Spring 2024, the project will feature fully revitalized ballrooms and meeting spaces, all-new guest rooms in the hotel’s historic tower and enhancements to the hotel’s iconic lobby, lobby bar and Café at the Pfister. Additional details about The Pfister’s renovation project can be found here. As USA TODAY notes, woven throughout the cultural fiber of The Pfister Hotel is a longstanding passion for the arts. The hotel holds the largest Victorian art collection of any hotel in the world. Originally collected by Guido and Charles Pfister, the expansive collection can be found on every floor throughout the hotel. The Pfister Hotel also celebrates the arts with its internationally recognized Artist in Residence program. In its 14th year, the program selects an artist for a year-long residency where they work in the hotel’s working studio and gallery space that is open to hotel guests and visitors. The public is encouraged to interact with the artist and witness the evolution of their art firsthand, inviting collaboration and intimate experiences with the artist. About The Pfister Hotel Today, The Pfister Hotel continues its tradition of gracious service and impeccable style and has been recognized by AAA as a Four Diamond property for over 45 consecutive years. The hotel is also consistently recognized by other top national industry and travel publications and associations, such as Condé Nast Traveler’s annual Reader’s Choice Awards as a Top Hotel in the Midwest. This exceptional property is a member of two distinguished hotel organizations, Historic Hotels of America, and Preferred Hotels & Resorts.
