The Pfister Hotel Launches Storyteller in Residence Program
Milwaukee-based antique dealer and collector Megan Dorsey named first-ever Pfister Storyteller in Residence MILWAUKEE, April 16, 2026 – The Pfister Hotel, a historic AAA Four Diamond hotel owned and managed by Marcus® Hotels & Resorts, is known for creating lasting memories with its extraordinary offerings and experiences. To continue sharing special moments with its guests, the hotel announced a new “Storyteller in Residence” position, filled for its first year by Megan Dorsey, a Milwaukee-based antique dealer and collector. Dorsey will provide an intimate glimpse into past and present stories of The Pfister in a collection of blog posts, social media narratives, and visual media.
“Building upon the success of our award-winning Artist in Residence program, we are thrilled to introduce this second, complementary residency,” said Brandon Drusch, managing director and general manager of The Pfister Hotel. “As Megan and future Storytellers shed light on the many tales these historic walls hold, our guests will experience The Pfister’s remarkable legacy in a wholly unique way.”
The Pfister’s Storyteller in Residence Program The Pfister Hotel’s Storyteller in Residence program is designed to gather and share the stories that define the essence of the iconic hotel – from the building’s rich history to the acclaimed Victorian art collection, that is the largest of any hotel in the world. The Storyteller in Residence will attend Pfister-hosted events and explore the hotel’s services, packages, and amenities to spotlight these exclusive moments.
Megan Dorsey Begins Residency as First-Ever Pfister Storyteller in Residence Dorsey’s work as an antique dealer and collector stems from her love of archival pieces that preserve memories and create a sense of meaning. Her collection of treasures has expanded with a special line of stationery featuring photographs of Black Americans from the Victorian era through the 1960s. Dorsey has been featured in Architectural Digest and Milwaukee Magazine as well as in BLK MKT Vintage: Reclaiming Objects and Curiosities that Tell Black Stories, a book celebrating Black collectors, curators, and artists. She has also shared her expertise as a panelist at the Winterthur Museum’s (Delaware) “Fresh Perspectives” symposium. Through her work, Dorsey has collaborated with various brands, including Esterbrook Pens, The Dubbel Dutch Hotel in Milwaukee, and DÔEN.
“I am honored to be The Pfister’s first Storyteller in Residence. Even before receiving this position, the hotel’s dedication to history and the arts inspired me and my own work,” said Dorsey. “The hotel and I share a similar passion for objects and experiences that hold memory and meaning, and I look forward to sharing the unique stories The Pfister possesses with all its guests and visitors throughout my residency.”
Along with the exciting news of the Storyteller in Residence program, The Pfister Hotel announced that Artist in Residence, Sasha Kinens, will return for a second year. Kinens, a figurative oil painter, will continue to create while welcoming guests in the working studio and art gallery found directly off the hotel’s lobby.
