MILWAUKEE RESTAURANT MANAGER TRAVELS TO TENNESSEE TO HAND-SELECT SINGLE BARREL JACK DANIEL’S WHISKEY FOR HARLEY-DAVIDSON 110TH ANNIVERSARYMarcus® Hotels & Resorts’ three Milwaukee properties, The Pfister® Hotel, InterContinental® Milwaukee, and Hilton Milwaukee City Center, today announced it will be serving and selling bottles of an exclusive Single Barrel Jack Daniel’s Whiskey at select food and beverage outlets during the Harley-Davidson 110th Anniversary celebrations. In June 2013, Ed Carrella, general manager of Mason Street Grill, traveled to the Jack Daniel’s Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, on behalf of Milwaukee’s Marcus Hotels, to sample and hand-select a barrel of whiskey to be served during the anniversary. While sampling the single barrel whiskey—a premium class of whiskey in which each bottle comes from an individual aged barrel—he was looking for an overall well-balanced flavor. “We do not want the whiskey to overpower the guest’s palate,” explained Carrella. “But we also don’t want the whiskey to get lost in a drink. Bold, yet smooth is really what we were looking for—and we found it with the barrel we selected.” The chosen barrel was bottled and delivered last month and will be served at several Marcus Hotels outlets. Bottles are also available for purchase at any of the three Milwaukee hotels and dining outlets for $110 for the first bottle and $75 for a second bottle. Alternatively, at any of the hotels’ outlets, including Mason Street Grill, Lobby Lounge, Blu Bar & Lounge, Kil@wat, CLEAR Bar & Lounge, zenden, Miller Time Pub & Grill, and Monarch Lounge, guests can purchase commemorative bottles of the select Jack Daniel’s Whiskey for $150 to be kept behind the bar, so they can request a drink made with their own private reserve whenever they visit. Each of the three hotels are planning to host complimentary tastings of the exclusive Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Whiskey. At 7 p.m., the evening festivities continue with an action-packed water ski show by the Brown’s Lake Aquaducks, before the resort’s annual Grand Fireworks display at dusk. In lieu of an admission fee, all attendees are encouraged to donate two non-perishable items for the organization.

The free block party event will take place on a closed-off section of 5th Avenue between Michigan and Wisconsin Avenues, and will offer guests live music throughout the evening, and a taste of the new menu with complimentary food and beer samples from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Event-goers can also enjoy a free build-your-own-burger bar that will allow them to customize their burger, name it, and submit it to Miller Time Pub & Grill for a chance to see it featured on the restaurant’s menu as the ‘Grand Reopening Burger.’ Guests also will have the opportunity to sample and vote for the restaurant’s new signature house brew.
